Last night my daughter Ramsey and I went with a close friend to a Bollywood dance class at the Debbie Reynolds Studio in North Hollywood. It was great fun. The teacher, a woman, teaches the dance by creating a story around every move, every wave of the hand. It was fascinating. "Here," she said, putting fingers lightly to her lips, "you are shy, but only for a moment." She quickly moved from shy to fierce, as our character is demanding something of her lover. It's quite the work-out. I took an Advil this morning.
Today I will take a long walk, which people in LA don't do. Ramsey was shocked a couple of days ago to see a friend strolling down a sidewalk. They miss a lot. I find it a fascinating city from the perspective of a walker, and of a new Bollywood dancer.
